The rarest of the rare incident happened at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns in Kearny Mesa, California.

One girl was born at 11:56 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, 2016, while her sister was born at 12:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day, 2017. The family was unavailable to give further information.

Interestingly, a similar birth had happened last year in San Diego — a baby girl named Jaelyn and baby boy named Luis — were born one minute before and two minute after the New Year.

Similarly, in Canada in the year 2014, twins were born in two different years.  Gabriella was born in 2013 at Mississauga Credit Valley Hospital in Ontario. Gabriella’s sister, Sophia, arrived eight minutes later in eight minutes later in 2014.
