A man named Joseph Talbot, 43, from New York bought nearly 1,000 copies of a local newspaper in an effort to keep people from reading about his DWI arrest.New York man buys up 1000 newspapers to keep DWI arrest quiet

State Police arrested Talbot in Wayne County and booked him for driving while intoxicated.

Police also charged Talbot with obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree when he refused to be finger-printed and photographed. According to the police, the man didn’t want his mugshot to feature in the newspaper.

The news appeared in the Times of Wayne County and its website. In order to hide his arrest from the locality, Joseph Talbot bought 1,000 copies of newspaper at $1.25 each. Unfortunately, his effort had backfired and the news got published in several national news outlets.
